ESPURNA DE MAR DO EMPORDÀ

Traditional blend of white Garnacha and Macabeo fermented in stainless steel to extract the most of the region’s character which is influenced by the Mediterranean Sea and soils of the Sierra de Rodes.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE VINEYARD

Wine made in the DO Empordà. When Sumarroca winery wanted to make wine in the denomination of origin Empordà, it searched for an area in which the imprint of the ground makes the wine well defined. We chose the area of Pau, in the Alt Empordà region, located near the Mediterranean Sea and the foothills of the Sierra de Rodes, which guarantees a wide range of land, from coarse sand to slate and granite, with diversities and different specificities in the characteristics of the wines.

TASTING NOTES

Pale yellow with hints of green, it is fresh and aromatic with mainly fruity notes like pear and fresh apple. The palate is smooth and satiny, with a long, fruity finish. Combination of freshness and creaminess, the main characteristic of this variety.

PRODUCTION

Hand-picked grapes vinified separately. Soft pressing, static racking and controlled fermentation at a temperature of 16 ° C for 20 days. It remains in its lees until the time of bottling.
